Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My thoughts too, Stu. Nothing that can’t wait a couple of weeks.

I had the same issue. Downloaded the gps file from my Coros app, deleted the fetch run & uploaded gps. Picked it up within a few minutes.

I repeated a course I'd done last week. This week it hasn't reigstered at all.

I ran part of the course I'd created last night and didn't get anything. I know I went past 5 flags after the start.

I'm still here and working until about 2.30 - I'll see if I can fix this.

I think I've sorted stuff out. I am going to put all the training entries since the game began (July 24th) onto the queue, so you may get a bunch of notifications. If this doesn't work, I will disable the notifications, and try again until I get it sorted.

I've just had a shed load of notifications and am beginning to regret placing a course start point where I did - lots of runs passing through that point whether I'm having a go at the course or not.

As a nice to have - and when you're back from your holiday - I'd quite like the ability to delete my attempts that weren't from the list associated with any given course.

There was talk of a threshold e.g. "only register if I hit at least 50% of the flags". There have been 306 course attempts so far, but 246 of them have hit fewer than 50% of the flags.

The down side is where someone has been a bit slapdash with their navigation, and missed more than they hit. They wouldn't get anything back in return.

If I lower it to 'hit 40% of the flags' to give the bad navigators a bit of leeway, then we still rule out 225 attempts.

How does that sound?

I've amended it so that it'll only register an attempt if you hit at least 4 flags.

I can see by Ness' runs on Hayling Island that all were under 50%, but it looks like these were all just training runs & not course attempts (the start was at the hotel, so picked up every run). I'd say 50% was reasonable. A little planning and some walking in circles near the flags should mean you pick up at least 80% on a valid attempt.

About This Thread

I had an idea the other day whilst walking with Katie. A lot of Fetch games rely on randomly-placed markers to encourage you to vary your routes - but what if you could design your own virtual orienteering course? Drop a dozen or so virtual flags on the map, and then you've got a challenge for yourself and anyone else who is passing through the area.

I've built some pages that allow you to construct a course:

fetcheveryone.com/ori

There are some notes on that page ...
