Anchovies! As far as I remember - in Lea and Perrins anyway - don't beat yourself up!

Yip, anchovies. Sheesh, this is harder than I thought!
I'm actually more OK the smaller and less sentient it gets - I'd probably be OK with beetles and larvae and things like that. It's the hurting, and suffering and knowing that I struggle most with.
But, there must be an alternative - I've seen one called Annie's sauce. Anyone tried that? I can live without Lea and Perrins, to be frank. I'll just add my own spices or soy and tabasco or something next time.:-) G

You can buy veggie Worcester sauce - it just depends how far you want to take things.

There's a similar substance that seems to be exclusively popular in Sheffield called Henderson's Relish. That is veggie.

Most Morrison's sell Henderson's Relish but it will be on the top or bottom shelf ie not any where particularly noticeable!

Am I the only one here that's so childish that "Henderson's Relish" makes me giggle?

It's not as funny as "Gentleman's Relish", fnarr. (Which iirc is also and anchovy based condiment.)
The veggie Worcs sauce is in the freefrom section in Morrison's. Chippa brand. There used to be a better one but it went off the market. I did wonder about brewing my own but it never got past the wondering stage. I could have been the veggie Worcestershire sauce king by now! (Probably not. I failed to become the king of chutney.)
