Still better than Trump who is a sexist, racist oaf.

What a shit country, lovely scenery, false people. I know. I worked there, twice, I went back to make sure I was right.

I think that Donald Trump should be declared persona non grata in Scotland and all his assets taken into state protection with no recompense. And he should no longer be referred to as "Donald" on these shores as he is discrediting a fine Scottish name.

Many Americans* think that a Trump victory is divinely ordained. I'm sure they have arguments already prepared should Trump lose. Look forward to seeing them.

*who are batshit crazy and post batshit crazy videos and/or comments on youtube.

We've just been having a similar conversation at lunch today and I said pretty much the same as your opening post Happy G(rrr) Brexit particularly I was quietly confident that we would remain, I will remember forever hubby switching the radio on and the news saying Brexit won.... I couldn't believe it.

Our politians are far from perfect but at least they have some background in politics, flipping heck what the hell does Trump bring to the table other than trouble and doom....

lets hope there is enough sensible American's out there who don't let it happen - but a country full of pro hunters of whom his son is one of the worst, who I doubt would never vote normally I fear they will come out of the woods and vote this time add that to the people he's won over with his lies and pomp and god knows what can happen.

Lets hope we are 3rd time lucky.

I am horrified that in a country with a population the size of the USA the final choice is between those two individuals. But one is many orders of magnitude more unsavoury than the other and I hope our friends across the big pond make the least stupid decision.

I think Clinton will be a warmonger. Mind you even Bill bombed Afghanistan so its only relative. I'm not gripped by her boast of setting up a no-fly zone in Syria.

Hello all, I'm really enjoying reading your posts about our election. I live in Texas and I can tell you the feeling here is it's Clintons to win or lose. Both candidates are terrible as are all politicians IMHO. Yes some are saying Trump is divinely ordained as well and as a evangelical Christian I think that is a horrible statement. God will decide who wins this election but we shouldn't try and twist the bible up to make him out to be some great guy. Velociraptor the majority of people I know are horrified as well but it is what it is.

DH, hope we haven't offended any Fetchies from across the pond. If so, apologies. Remember, we've got Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage over here. And Tony Blair was my hero until he warmongered his way into Iraq, so we're hardly squeaky clean over here either!

I have some very good American friends. And those interviewed on TV and radio have all been articulate and considered in their views, which is more than you can often say for the "man in the street" interview in the UK.

Fingers crossed is all I can think! :-O

I'm just back from a road from Miami to Nashville, Florida was littered with signs in peoples garden for Trump & Pence but once out of Florida we didn't see much evidence of support for him, one telling thing though was the amount of Americans who struck up a conversation with us and asked us if we were hearing much about the election in the UK and usually followed it up with with negative comments about Trump, several told us that they actually felt embarrassed by him and what he was portraying to the rest of the world, trouble is they dont like Clinton either, should be an interesting 24 hrs.
