So we start hearing results about 6pm Tue UK time, and we know by about 6am Wed morn (or possibly a bit earlier?) Is there a htread already for this? I'm bricking it, because it's so close to the crazy outcome. Can't believe it would happen. But then, I'm 0 from 2 already in elections in last 2 years. * I couldn't believe UK would vote for Brexit. Went to bed pretty comfortable. Very shocked to see result the next morning. * I was hopeful of Scottish Independence. Went to bed fingers crossed. Woke up not surprised, but disappointed. But tonight is another level - go to bed hopeful, but wake up... relieved or... terrified. Can you imagine someone like Trump with his finger on the trigger?! Argh! G |

I stayed up for the first Obama election but this one is more like a horror movie. Will it be on channel 70 on freeview?

Polls seemed to show it getting closer and closer, even after the FBI withdrawal of accusations. Hillary seemed more relaxed in latest interviews, but not sure on what basis. Trump is pulling out all the stops - lying, pleading, promising everything, with no evidence, but just appealing to people's hopes, fears. Eurch. Anyone read anything concrete either way or is it all just a speculation fest just now? G |

I'm sure its all speculation currently. Sadly I suspect the announcement of this winner will not be the end of it. |

Clinton is a dreadful candidate; perhaps had the republicans thrown anyone else up there they would have won easily. The very epitome of the establishment career politician looking to tick that final box. There by default, and having the Clinton name. Conviction? Track record? No chance. The fact it is even close shows how inept she has been. It's hard to blame Americans for casting around for almost anyone else....almost that is, except that sadly the other choice is, incredibly, even worse. Clinton will win with a surprising degree of comfort; polls will underestimate those who Trump has antagonised and who will come out to stop him. Real question is whether Trump will go away and leave everyone alone or start chucking conspiracy theories and lawsuits about for the next 2 years... |

Doesn't matter if he does. He can spend what he likes on legal challenges. Just matters that he doesn't get in to power. Now, or ever. I don't see what's so bad about Hillary. What's wrong with being a career politician. She's smart, has worked in domestic and international politics, has a legal background and has a reasonably rounded (sounding) view of her domestic and international responsibilities. I'd like to celebrate having a woman Chief Exec in charge of one of the world's most influential countries. She's not perfect. But who is? |

Basically she's stuffed from the word go, Republican Senate, a dead duck. Hamstrung by Obamacare.
