Surely it can't be that entries for the 2025 race are currently coming in a little too slowly for comfort?

^^ I’d agree!
I also agree with GG not that I’d ever be interested even if fast enough

Having DNF'ed a 50k trail race I've decided to never run ultra's.

One has to know one's limits.
But a lot of ultra trails have beautiful and fascinating courses...

Nothing to do with the Spine; just people being d*cks.

Not really in Edale, so unlikely to be race related thankfully.

There was a post last night from the Peak Park to say the car park at Mam Tor would be closed today because of snow and ice.
Looks like folk have just parked anywhere they can as a result. The closed car park is the one that is pretty much at Mam Tor summit so is extremely popular with those that don't really want to walk anywhere but want the views.

The entitled muppets need to be ticketed and towed as in Snowdonia for causing an obstruction (it was pleasing to see a couple of Sunday's ago that those in Rydal who thought they'd get away with parking on double yellows or across animal routes round cattle grids had little presents awaiting their return despite it being a Sunday).

Meanwhile in the Challenger there a lot of folk behind or very close to the lantern rouge symbol (slowest pace for a successful finish). And a lot of people probably expending way more energy than planned to make meaningful progress. All suggests a high retiral rate at some point.
