Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Night-owl
Tim Hutchings on twitter reminded me ( not personally) that this race started today.

Anyone done it. Or plan too. Though I'm not an ultra runner yet! These races intrigue me

Night-owl errr no and errr no๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Once upon a time while volunteering at the bottom of Pen Y Fan on a Beacons 100 miler at around 3am in July, I found myself chatting to a very nice bloke who was supporting his friend. He said he hadn't done "anything" like this and couldn't comprehend running 100 miles through the night on this sort of terrain.

I said I couldn't either as I'd only done a relatively flat 100 miler, we then discussed our race history (mine didn't take long!) and he tells me he'd done this race (and not just oncebi believe!)..my mind was blowm...no wonder he couldn't comprehend only doing 100 miler through the night in the mountains...I mean why would you even bother getting out of bed for it๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Just got home from ogee 's Two Towers 50k night race. A cracking route (Satan's staircase aside) and well organised. I may have to go back and do it in daylight for the views.

Kilian gives a very detailed review of his training and races in 2022, in what's been a very successful year

During the section on Recovery, I particularly liked this graphic which shows the Cost v Benefit of good and bad things affecting recovery

Slightly tangentially, the Brathay 10 in 10 has had a shortage of female applicants this year and is inviting applications from female runners.
