I've never heard of them either! All seems to be trundling along here - I'm not pushing anything too hard just yet as we're still waiting for probate anyway.

[also have the builders coming round today to talk about what I want to do to my own house - ruled out moving because I like the location of this one and it seemed far more sensible to get this one exactly how I want it rather than buying something else which is close but not quite there, the money we would have spent on moving can be added to the budget]

that sounds exciting YP. I'm thankfully coming to the end of work on my house, for now. Since January I've had almost all the ceilings skimmed and painted, my en suite extended and refitted, all rooms and hallways except the kitchen decorated, and am having two carpets replaced tomorrow as well as built in wardrobes in my room finished. Next week my new bed is coming and the week after my new living room furniture and curtains for most rooms. The paved section of drive is being extended hopefully next month.

I'm now fed up of mess and untidiness. I have too much furniture, and yet not enough storage (though once the wardrobe is finished I can unpack some more), and need to start getting rid of more stuff before I can make it more tidy. I know the teens will be badgering me to replace the main bathroom but it will have to wait.

We're going through the mess stage and need to sort the clearout over Easter I think. I'm actually quite looking forward to getting a big pile of jobs done in one go! The good news is that the number I had in my head is fairly close to (slightly above) the number the surveyor had in his. So even when I get scope creep it should be doable.

Exciting YP!
I needed to post this somewhere - first viewer coming tomorrow! I must not get my hopes up, I know these things take time, but I’m excited anyway :-)

Good luck B.

I looked at another flat and it was a cross lease. This is the third one in Bristol and they're not supposed to be common. Oh yeah? Back to the drawing board.

How tiresome RS.
I haven't seen anything that meets our needs re price/location/garage so far, but we won't go looking till we get an offer, so hopefully something will pop up when we need it.

:( RS.

Things are moving here. Got the oath through for probate so should get the grant once we swear it and send it back. Spoke to the solicitor and they don't issue the contract til they have the grant but shouldn't be too long. The survey was apparently today.

Also had the decorator round this morning to look at the work to be done here taking old paper off and repainting the place once the more serious stuff is done.

I should complete a week today. Exchange went through yesterday after a couple of months of faffing - some me, whilst I found a decent, relatively cheap solicitor for conveyancing (they are all wayyyy overpriced for what they do!), and a couple of other bits and pieces. Vendors, supposedly having been sorted for ages almost managed to screw it up because their solicitor failed to do an indemnity policy correctly.

It's a completely bonkers system.
