Tall people hitting their head on the stairs while they're washing up!

Why put in patio doors and then a ridiculous fence. Nice view of some wooden slats and the top of tall people's heads walking past ...

Looks lovely - calming and and spacious - until you see the outside picture. Which is why I'm always suspicious of listings where the exterior shot is not the main pic.

Thinking about selling the house I've been in for over 12 years (albeit with 2 years living elsewhere). The house itself suits me - its design and area isn't everyones cup of tea but has plenty of space and it's in a quiet area on the edge of town with open fields. However there are now 2 planning applications in to build on those fields - the developers have been trying for years despite the fact its greenbelt, not zoned for housing, liable to flooding and cut off from the rest of town apart from a narrow single lane bridge over the river. There have been hundreds of objections but they just keep chipping away at it and one day it's going to get passed and there will be 500 houses getting built about 50 metres away :-( Am seriously considering trying to find something rural with no near neighbours though not sure thats entirely practical.

Fuming ...

The estate agents who sold my flat and effectively work for me have left messages for the buyer inc one which gives her 24 hours to come back or they'll "put it back on the market". I told the agent off strongly twice! They are so thick-skinned. I've now had to put a call in to my solicitor who will need to call the buyer's solicitor. Yes it is dragging on, but the last letter I had a copy of asked for a suggested exchange date. The agent had also booked in a viewing tomorrow which I cancelled. There is a broken up couch in bits to go to the tip and I haven't had chance to clean due to bad arm and being ill with a cold.

I had a dream last night about flat sales falling though. Not mine in particular but generally. :(

I assume you didn't instruct the agents to give the 24h limit?! Sounds very odd. Though your buyers do seem to be very slow.

I've been pleased with my agents, whilst inthe market they rang me every week and any time there was news. Since the offer was accepted a different team member has rung me and buyers every week to keep track of sale, a couple of these calls have made me chase solicitor, so I'm never left wondering what's going on. And actually my solicitor has been good too. Agent even rang me today to check I'm happy with the exchange and sort out about key handover.

I definitely wouldn't give threatening ultimatums! The agent didn't consult me and booked in a viewing. They just want their commission any way they can. I heard virtually nothing after the sale was agreed - from the agents. Rubbish.

Oh RS I'm really sorry. The house buying process in this country is shit. One of my colleagues had their buyer pull out on the day they were supposed to exchange.
