Thanks TRO, very helpful post. I think the main issue at the moment is that I know am not getting enough sleep due to one thing and another and my 'rest' days over the next month consist of getting up at ungodly hours to take my DD to university open days - definitely not ideal. I was doing both a long run and long bike on the weekend but found that too much two days in a row - so I am moving the long run to mid week, hopefully that will help a bit. Perhaps I need to proactively schedule in nap times to catch up on some kip!

Cambridgeshire has been Toured. Its flat, the roads are long and very straight, 32 mph drafting a luminous green tandem is fun, 80 miles is a long way. wouldn't do it again.
