No, they're brand new, hence my concerns. Gobi said the same thing about balls of the feet. I'll hopefully get to try them out beforehand and, if they feel very odd, I'll switch to my road racers instead.

Sounds like me last night with my new fell shoes, switching socks during the session to see which suited best before I race in them on Friday lol

Fell shoes? I didn't know such a thing existed. Another shoe to buy then!! Do the have human fly-esque suckers on the soles?

you have a plan TMW

my XC spikes cause me no issues but when I wear my track spikes I have sore calfs for 3 days. I would NOT wear them until I had trained in them

Morning. So I went down the track last night and I didn't do anything. I just watched the Boy do 5x800m and I timed him.

Still not sure about the whole starting block thing - it might not be used. Anyway they wondered if I wanted to do the 4x200m relay with the men as they were a man short - NO chance...how slow would I be??!!

My trail/fell shoes suck pretty well :-) :-p I love them! They are a bit chunky, but seem to make me fly over the rocks and downhill through mud where I'd otherwise go flat on my face :-)

Lol Emmilou. I just did a quick search for fell shoes and saw they really did have soles covered with suckers (like climbing shoes I guess).

I've got trail shoes but they didn't look a patch on those for rock gripping!

Boo, You'll be fine without blocks for now - when I did my 200m "race", none of the girls had blocks. If you find you enjoy sprinting though, it's something to consider.

Oh and to answer a few questions from way back in the thread:

1) RACHE: I have entered the Rosenheim League next Wednesday at Croydon Arena. I can't believe I am the only one that likes 100m and 200m - I find it easier as I am a natural sprinter, not a long distance runner!

2) GOBI - Yes to teaching me track stuff - I need to arrange a time to come and visit you and Rach over summer.

3) There was more, but I have forgotten. EM - I am a track novice really, I did track at school - but was never taught anything, just told to run. So I did. And I ALWAYS came 2nd!! (this was for 100m sprint)
