Thanks all. Not something I ever expected again, so I’ll make sure I enjoy it, no matter how wrong it may go 😂

Fantastic, SPR! I must say I'd rather have been running a 1500 metres today than the half marathon I struggled through in today's hot weather.

Thanks all. Details are I didn't wear a watch again and didn't do any splits maths beforehand. Race was pretty hot so me, a club mate and another runner (coached by club mate) were off the back early. I felt horrible for the first couple of laps (think this might be the overheating beforehand*) but knew that I shouldn't let a big gap open to club mate so just worked on that and relaxing and eventually legs started to feel a bit better. There was a bit of wind in the back straight which was annoying when trying to work there but managed it as well as I could for the last 700.
The bad bit of racing instinct almost came in for me at the end. I went past someone around the 800 mark but they clung on all the way round and through my kick at 400 and 200 and then they were able to pass with less than 100m to go. I almost shut down but my conscious brain managed to get in there before my subconscious had completed the shut down command, lol. Might have lost a little but not much given the other guy ran 4:24.20.
*I think I've said before that MD is fine in heat, the main issue is staying cool before the race. The only way to do that today though was to stay in the stands and not bother warming up, lol.
