As if by magic have been offered an 800 and 3km next Wednesday. I'm out of shape so could be horrific.
So much for the delay.
House move is still delayed mind you.

Great run, SPR! I was, of course, pleased to get a PB in my 800m last weekend, but I was actually even more pleased that I'd managed to run the race well - there's a special satisfaction in doing that, and you seem to have nailed that.

Thanks J2R and definitely. I wasn't happy with the 9:35.89 I ran last year and the 9:43 race I ran a few weeks later was better executed.

I left my legs and lungs in Nuneaton I think, because I had nothing much to give at the league fixture on Wednesday. It was disgustingly humid and I just felt really flat. I planned to do the 800m at my 1500m pace, but could only manage the pace I had hoped to race the 3000m in. Needless to say I could not hold that pace for the 3000 a bit later on! It was a lonely run, with former GB elite Juliet Potter a class on her own out front, then a big gap to me, then a bit of a gap to whoever was behind me. Just scraped under 11 mins. I did run a tactically decent leg of the 4 x 400m though, and increased my spectacularly bad shot put from 3.25 to 5.99m.

Not surprised by that Speedy and races when you're trying to make it easier by running a bit slower than race pace have a habit of feeling harder especially if already tired plus the amount of stuff you did on the day makes you tired just reading, lol.
I haven't done a single run longer than 3.1 miles since Sunday, just ticking over between races.
Gobi - Is your 800 and 3000 vet league as well?

Have been offered my first international vest since 1989 when I was 18 to run the 3000m for Scottish veterans at next months inter counties at Nuneaton. Only problem is I’m doing M35 rather than M50 as I’m second choice M50 😳 could be a distant last but really chuffed. Hard work has started, 30 x 200(200) on the track at 3k pace today. The aim to go out there, wear my country vest and PB, that’s all I can hope for very excited unless COVID takes it away from me.
