That kind of thing.... Actually LJ is nearly always end of evening - with 4 x1 in the middle. I need to see a programme before I commit. |

Battersea Vets meet on the 10th for my first claim club has been cancelled - mainly down to lack of volunteers. Bit sad as that's my home match.

Looks like May league is cancelled everywhere. Apparently Midlands T&F champs are supposed to open today. No sign so far... |

3:50 1500 followed by a 2:10:58 marathon four days later? Not bad range for this young lad, though probably not a recommended pre-race approach... twitter.com |

He wasn't even supposed to run the full marathon! My first and second track races are now confirmed. Masters League 1500m Nuneaton 19th May Leamington Club Champs (guest) 10,000m 25th May No doubt I'll get roped into 400m, 200m relay and possibly shot put and lowest height of high jump at the Masters League too. Never done shot or high jump though, so hopefully not! I do have good upper body strength these days so dare say I wouldn't drop the shot on my toes, but I'd worry about injuring myself somehow. And if high jump is any higher than my hips they can forget it. I could scissor that safely enough but I'm not going over backwards no matter how many points we need. |

I'd never done HJ of any description when I got roped into it in my mid 50s, CC. I can't scissor to save my life, modified Fosbury from the off for me.

Hopefully picky enough that I can't do it! My coach has already said I shouldn't do the 200m relay. I haven't mentioned the shot and high jump to him, he'll have a heart attack.

Sounds like you could cover a full track league program between the both of you! I don't know whether it's a pattern, but I've noticed the women in our squad also have to cover a few events and they'd rather not have to. |

I've said no to the high jump, no matter how low the bar. Too much injury risk. Shot put is a maybe.
