Have you planned a sporting comeback this year? Or got yourself involved in something outside of the normal remit of our run/swim/bike/walk universe?

Share your hopes, dreams and crushing realities here :-)

Me, I'm constantly hitting refresh on the social media accounts of Olney Town Cricket Club, hoping that their nets will start soon. I am hoping to play club cricket again after a hiatus of about 22 years. I know of at least one other Fetchie planning a similar journey (albeit with a different club).

Anyone else? :-)

I'd like my knee to start behaving consistently so that I could confidently run about 10 miles again! Apart from that relearning German, and maybe starting to write a book, so nothing major.

It's still running but to race something further than 5km was the plan Last year. Never happened

I would love to write a book!
But I’m also focusing on rediscovering the runner hidden under the insulation 😂

Good luck

Re: running - if my knee allows me to go above 10 miles (it did last year, cold and wet do not suit arthritic knees), then I have this crazy idea of doing something like the backyard ultra on a walk 4 mins run 2 mins schedule. Having already done this as part of my recovery I know I can do it at 11-12 min pace, and you "only" need to complete 4.2 miles every hour.

Wooo, brilliant @Nicholls595 - report back when you’ve been :-)

@EvilPixie what’s stopping you? Write one twelfth of a book in January, and see how you go. 6,400 words a month gets you Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by the end of the year.

For the 4th time I'm aiming to row at the British Rowing Indoor Championships in December. 4th time aiming for it but it will be the first time if I actually get there. Previous attempts have been ended by COVID (once) and a back issue (twice).

This time round I've had some pretty effective treatment and a good maintenance plan from a physio I trust and I'm hopeful that 4th time is the charm.

It's a long way off, though, and a lot can happen but that's the plan at the minute.
