Hi all,

Yesterday I spoke with Steve's sister. She will keep me updated on any funeral arrangements, and I'll share them here when I know more. One thing she did share was that he was in bed - so the hope is that he passed peacefully. I will be sending her some links to view his blog, pictures, and this thread, so that she can see all the folks who thought a great deal of him.

Best wishes
Ian

Also love HB's idea of the virtual challenge ending at Crosby beach via other Gormleys

Would anyone be willing to take on the task of creating a route? We have a route already, thanks to CumbriAndy, but in the circumstances, I am sure he wouldn't mind if we save his for next year.

Thank you fetcheveryone. It is comforting to think he possibly died in his sleep. I

Thanks for the update Fetch, I do hope he was taken peacefully. I hope his family do find comfort knowing how much he was loved by his fetchies.

I was going to see if it was possible to do a memory run for him as we do for DrK cup, but having the virtual challenge finish at Crosby would be a good option too. Not sure I’d be much use as a route planner but happy to support if I can.

Thanks for the update Fetch, hopefully it was a peaceful passing for Steve, albeit was far too soon.

Thanks for the update. Some comfort for family and friends that he was in bed .

About This Thread

Maintained by LipGloss
Never met him in person but always came across as a lovely man.

If you read about his nightly beach runs you could almost have been running along beside him.

He always encouraged others especially on the How was your run thread.

Hope all your beach run are still as perfect as they were while you were here xx

Funeral 5th April 1.30pm at the Thornton Garden of Rest, Lydiate Ln, Thornton, Liverpool L23 1TP
