Swittle, was one of the good guys. I'd like to contribute to anything that helps his memory live on.

How lovely. If it was at dusk it could be a headtorch one too thinking about Lip Gloss’a comment yesterday ❤️

That is the idea...

Or we could dedicate F'laps to Switts... Or both... There is something special about a real headtorch run on his favourite beach.

That sounds a fitting tribute, Hann.

Terrible sad news. I've written my thoughts publicly on my own fb (Phil Owen) but in short, Swittle was truly the best and I'm beyond sad at the news

We last chatted about crosby Park run and how I hoped to get over there and run with him. Sadly it's not to be

I can't remember where we first met. It was a time when we seemed to race every race we could and it could have been one of many. I seem to remember him coming up for the coastal run and possibly the Blaydon races and I think we met at the East Hull 20 and various yorkshire races.

I think I'd like to run crosby parkrun in his memory and I'd like to contribute to anything in his memory.

I'll be running my trails tomorrow eve and I'll think about how he could turn his short evening run into a wonderfully magical story to enchant us all.

If we are doing something permanent in memory then I think it may be appropriate to consult his family if possible to avoid causing untoward distress if they unexpectedly see it.

I'd be happy to contribute I'm not trying to avoid stumping up.

I never met Switts but he used to talk to me about my running route when I lived on the Wirral. He always commented on blogs and was very difficult to give a follow up to on the word association thread. He’ll be missed so much.

RIP.

I never met him but felt like I knew him. Always a kind comment on a blog, and some of our interests overlapped so I often find myself posting on the same threads.

The many tributes here are testament to the high regard everyone has for him.

This is the meaure of the man.

I've always admired how you plough your own furrow in matters of running and racing; equally, the transition between 'got to do it' and 'do it if it suits me' is one you've managed well

Fetch won't be quite the same place without swittle. I'm really going to miss his kind encouragement. Feeling very sad.

About This Thread

Maintained by LipGloss
Never met him in person but always came across as a lovely man.

If you read about his nightly beach runs you could almost have been running along beside him.

He always encouraged others especially on the How was your run thread.

Hope all your beach run are still as perfect as they were while you were here xx
