Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I will be meeting my wife and young child after the event - was thinking a coffee shop or similar. I wont have my phone on me. I assume the Nero at the Hilton will be manic, anyone got any other suggestion. Cafe/Pub etc. Somewhere I can buy food/drink if they are (inevitably) late?

Any insights from locals about someone arriving to spectate around 11am? Was thinking of suggesting to my better half that she arrives at Altrincham and takes the chance of spotting me up there and then jumping on the tram to the finish line. But if there's going to be gridlock getting in and out of Altrincham then maybe that won't work so well? No issues with walking up to a mile to get to the tram stop in Altrincham.

Sorry Larks', as I've always been running, I've never tried to drive around on Marathon day.
I imagine if she tries to get as close as possible to the parking spots I suggested to you previously, then she'll most likely end up within 1mile of the tram stop.
The other issue is that trams from Altrincham to the finish will be busy, as many supporters head there from the start and then back to the finish (but at least it is the origination of the tram line).

MAG - previously, I have met people in Tollgate (in fact it was K5 Gus, of this parish) and The Bishop Blaize, on separate occasions, in the past. Both just a short walk from the finish.

I’m a late entry to Manchester on Sunday.

#8081 green vest, white band with Forest of Dean AC round the chest.

Aiming to go sub 3:15 & be glad of some company to chat through the early miles.
I’ve run 3x 3:2X in my last 3 marathons but I’ve done more 20M runs this time, broke my run streak yesterday & recently ran my fastest parkrun in 3 years so hoping things go better this time. Sunday’s weather forecast is definitely in my favour.
Anyone else starting in Pink A?

Thanks all.
Bishop Blaize i did spot on Google maps - certain an option but 'massive Tesco on Chester Road' sounds like a better option. Thank you
