Got my Ukraine bib the other day, I think I'd assumed that what I'd get would be my race number with some blue and yellow on it, rather than a blue / yellow flat to wear.

Now I need to work out if there is a good way of putting that and my number on without causing an unintended rubbing issue somewhere.

The new route and start are caused some issues last year for us in that to access Old Trafford Cricket Ground for the race HQ and bag drop you had to cross over the road where waves were being walked up to the start and wait for a wave to be held back. Then, once on the cricket ground side you rejoined the wave route back around to the start. Somewhat complex to describe but seemed to work if a bit confusing and it did take time.

So the key question - are there toilets in the start area? From the event guide graphic, it looks like "no"? 45 minutes to wait to start, that's prime time for pre-race weight loss...

Toilets last year.
A big block in the street at the side of Trafford Town Hall near information tents and before entering wave area.
Further toilets slightly before the start line.

If the toilets aren’t there this year, there’s plenty of bushes near the start!

Bushes were frequented last year unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective.

Which of us will be in the start pen area together then? Would be good to say hello and put a face to the username before we set off.

Not decided on race day attire just yet but could well be in a black fetch t-shirt which would be pretty easily spottable. Say hi if you see me!

Looks like we might get some light showers. Not showing on BBC weather for Sale, but nearer to Chester it's showing light rain about 11-1pm, and given how far out we still are there's every chance that that sort of forecast could shift the rain around a little.

But still relatively light winds, and weather models tend to be pretty accurate in predicting wind speed / direction with sufficient confidence even if they don't quite know about how the clouds will form or the rain will fall. So still looking OK!
