BK brighter days ahead
Runners now finish (2021 onwards ) in the opposite direction to previous years. This makes getting from Old Trafford Metro to the finish straight a bit of a bun fight as you are going against the stream of finishers coming out of the cricket ground. It is also almost impossible to cross from the metro to the football ground side without having a long detour.
Didn’t notice any cafe’s in the finish area other than take away chippie on road leading to football ground which was expensive and not as good as Lou Macari’s on Chester Road which, unfortunately only opens on match days.
There are several places on the metro that give easy access to the route and opportunities to see runners as they head out of the centre and return - Stretford, Sale, Brooklands, Timperley and the short Altrincham loop.
The number of trams last year was limited due to industrial action but relatively easy to go from place to place despite being very crowded.

Pace of the runners being supported will obviously dictate how many spots can be reached.
Last year I was carrying placards so made my life easy by going to Brooklands and walking the short distance between mile 12 and 20 then back to Old Trafford.

Anyone seen mention of a tracker for you lot, please?

It’s usually a total farce for Manchester but I’d like to try!

Just been re-reading about tram options, a friend and I are staying at the Warrington Premier Inn near jn21 of M6. Looks like driving into Altrincham and parking at the station is the best bet? Then metro in to the start area... Do locals agree? For both ease and no stress on the morning (would rather pay for parking than risk not finding somewhere), plus to then get away again mid afternoon...

Thanks!

That's pretty much my plan Clare, I'm coming in from home from not too far from Warrington.

No idea about paying for parking in Altrincham though. Nelly probably a better advisor on that front.
