I’ve got to say, I’m amazed by the number of people on social media who have lapped-up the “City Centre” finish announcement without knowing how far the new finish is (still) outside the city centre!!! (I’m not including you here Larks)

That, and instead of being served by three tram stops within less than 10mins walk, the new finish is now approx 20mins walk from the nearest tram stop(?).

It has more pubs nearby so folks can get sh!t faced more easily afterwards though.

Yep, it was the proximity of the trams that made me laugh. 15-20 minutes walk on marathon legs won't be pretty!!

Presumably they're going to have to do a london-style bag lorry transport option too.

That said, it's a nicer finish area than the rather soulless Trafford finish and turns it more into a proper "Manchester" marathon.

Can't see buses for that many people working smoothly. But some sort of shuttling back into the town centre is surely necessary.

With the finish being on Oxford Rd the usual bus route will be closed / diverted.

There are other bus routes! This will be perfect for me; I can nip into work for a shower and something to eat and then head over to Upper Brook Street to catch the number 50 to get home.
