yes Clare park and ride from Altrincham is your best bet. I wouldn't try to drive to the start area No idea about parking in Altrincham. give yourself plenty of time to get there and find somewhere to park. I hope Metrolink put on extra trams, they usually do when there's an event on |

clare1976 I’d suggest considering using Sale Water Park park’n’ride Metrolink stop. It’s a little further than Altrincham Metrolink from your Premier Inn, but as it is Motorway driving pretty much door-to-door then it will be approximately the same driving time. Whilst Sale WP isn’t on the Altrincham-Old Trafford Line, you can get off (back on) at Trafford Bar which is pretty much at mile 26 of the route, so a short walk from the race village. It is also a lot quieter than Old Trafford after the race, so easier to catch a tram back to the car. If you do plan to use Altrincham then there is a pay n display car park near the Metrolink stop / Leisure Centre you could use, but just beware of road closure both before and after your race could make it harder to get too/from the car park. Happy for you to DM me if you want anymore info. |

To add - if you do decide to use Altrincham, then the car park I meant to use is the Oakfield Road car park. Do not try parking at either Stamford multi-storey car park (affected by road closures) or Tesco (limited to 3hrs).

Anyone out and about parkrunning this morning then? A gentle trot around Delamere for me and then its feet up and trawling through as many films as I can binge as possible whilst snacking on dried apricots for the day!

Thank you Nelly that's really helpful and Sale sounds like a better option all in all. Gutted you won't be there tomorrow:-( I was at parkrun this morning but just did barcodes, no running for me today. A fairly relaxing day ahead other than the drive up the M6 later this afternoon! |

Clare, glad to be able to help. I might not be on the start line, but I may be out on my bike at various points supporting, so I’ll be sure to give you (and any other Fetchies I recognise a shout). Remember to enjoy the “victory lap” everybody, as reward for your hard work in training ![]() |

Thanks Nelly, be fab to see you if you're around 😀 We have delayed our trip up the M6 by an hour as found out the Man Utd match isn't starting until 5.30pm and against Leicester, so want to avoid that traffic!! |

Finish line videos etc manchestermarathon.co.uk Live tracking manchestermarathon.co.uk Results page manchestermarathon.co.uk Thanks lark. In true Mancunian style the tracker doesn't work at all. Hopefully it'll start working on the day. Or maybe by Tuesday or something! |

I parkran at Greenfield Valley this morning. Bit quicker than sensible but ‘tis done now. I’m heading for Altrincham metrolink tomorrow too. Good luck folks 😃 |
