Just under 8 miles this morning to get me half way to Chirk. It a bit humid out even at 6.30am! Getting it done early as there’s football & cricket to concentrate on for the rest of the day. 😀

Mrs Jigs, there has been a Golden Gates 5 mile race for many years. The present course can be seen by bike cam at and it gives a nice idea of the Elveston Castle grounds, shown on this map derbyshire.gov.uk |

Currently just near this sadly closed pub and Indian Restaurant. Google have done a wonderful job of changing it from the Vernon Yonge Arms, which is what is should be Here is what it looked like in about 1900. search.staffspasttrack.org.uk |
