Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

That's great news. I've had my first. Walked home a different way down a path I've never been down, and bought Black Jack lollies for the first time.

Good newts on the jabs - firsts and seconds.

I saw a green woodpecker in flight this morning. I've seen them before but first time this year. And the blackthorn is now out - very pretty, think it's my favourite blossom, such a contrast against the branches. Although they're all gorgeous in different ways and today magnolia, forsythia, and gorse were all blooming away. No ornamental cherries down here - but our similarly fruit free ornamental red currant has burst into life. The fruit bearing shrubs and trees are further behind.

I saw my first blossoming magnolia last night - they are so beautiful, aren't they? Everything is budding now - I love seeing the hedgerows get slightly greener every day.

Blackthorn seems whiter than white this year :-)

About This Thread

starblackheartstar The sixth running of Do a New Thing for Spring starblackheartstar

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
