Daffodils look lovely, Hanneke - as does the blackthorn blossom.

I stopped gardening early, made a sandwich and a mug of tea and drove halfway to collect youngest, stopping for a walk with my newt walking poles around the lake and along the Ouse at "Danish Camp". I've walked there before, run there before but this is the first time this year and with added pole practice :)

(I didn't get my picnic though as youngest then phoned to say he'd finished early, so having lunch now)

Walking feels purposeful but not an effort, going to take a bit of getting used to on hard ground, easier on the grass where they don't bounce.
Need to go practice a lot on hills, but I have plans for that after the Easter break :)

LOL at Baroness :)

How lovely, Dio! I remember how chuffed my Grandma used to be when one of my (then) recalcitrant teens decided to come with my to visit her.

Nice one RH! I went purposefully on tarmac for a couple of kms to work on technique. I found thinking xc skiing push off really helped!

I haven't skied for 30 years and very little of that was cross country style - I'll have to watch some.
Am pleased with the Harrier poles and the videos to help with technique.

I took my new 3/4 biking shorts for a spin on the bike this morning. Very comfy and perfect replacement for the old pair that need replaced. My new stick blender just arrived so I can make some soup later.

Does making a curry you know you’ve made before and therefore exists but there is no living evidence of a recipe so I’ve made it up count as a newt - possibly to be a one off 😂

Chickpea, coconut vegetable curry simmering smells lovely tastes rather nice so far.

Lent has a special and specific meaning to Christians but has become an secular season of denial and hair shirting that serves no positve purpose. No chocolate, no booze, no -er - other stuff.

Why not treat the build up to Easter - as a chance to celebrate and embrace NEW THINGS - that's what spring is about after all.

The first few pages of the thread give more ideas.
