Carp, the FB local pages/selling pages round here have set up groups of volunteers and there's a common slip people are putting through doors.

I don't know about local pages or groups, as a general rule I keep as far away from any as possible. I can look though.

Carp I heard from someone at Aberdeen Uni that they are going to fast-track register 3rd year nursing students. She didn’t mention about the exams though

We were told on Thursday that the uni is pushing back hard against the idea. I can see that there are many issues with it, but if we are needed then most of us don't want to be sat at home when we have the training to be actually useful.

Carps - this is the one our neighbours used. I think, based on the WhatsApp group responses, that it's a fairly small (ie 10-12 houses) group, all in the same road, rather than a wider approach. Although the village Facebook group is also offering similar - although a lot more comments & numpties & silly sharing on there. |

If we end up heading for the 60% infection rate that is being talked about, a huge number of people are going to have had the virus and recovered from it, and have no need to self-isolate - should they not be free to go to mass events, visit shops other than supermarkets and pharmacies and all the rest?

This is a very good site for statistics geeks, you can sort the tables by whatever variable (country, infections, mortality etc) and present as graphs. worldometers.info |
