I get a couple of weeks off while I get the tests done then I get back on it.

Worst thing is that Mousey will have done another 1000km before I sit on the rower again!

Awe Nooo! It's hopefully nothing, but respect for taking the sensible route. Be well, god speed and don't hit the Quality Street TOO hard! :-)

Ps. I conservatively estimate 1,250 km.

Pps. do you use a Garmin chest strap? Mine used to spike horrendously, the Polar ones are far more stable, I find.

First effort at a Level 2 workout. 4x2k with 5 min rest.

Pleased as I struggled to break 8 minutes on a stand alone effort only a few weeks back.

Sorry to hear that, Nellers. Not ideal timing either, with all the temptation to eat during the next couple of weeks. Go easy!

Nice stuff, Jef. The last rep shows there's still some headroom :-)

For me, 4 x 1500m with 3-min rests. Pacing bang on target with first and last at 2:04.4 and middle two reps at 2:04.5, averaging 2:04.5. Last time was 2:04.6 but only 3 reps so happy enough - every little counts.

With decent warmup and cooldown, total of 10,000m. I am being fed by Mother of Muttley this evening so I can go with a clear conscience. She does the food, I do the booze.

It is a garmin strap but i’m confident it was real rather than a monitor glitch. I could feel my heart racing as it happened. Getting old is a bit shit but it’s still better than the alternative!

Jef, that is a session! Well done mate.

Nellers - so sorry to hear that. You're absolutely doing the right thing getting it checked out - peace of mind is worth a bit of a lay-off. I had a scare with an arrhythmia in August, so know just how alarming it is when these things happen. It's good you've had some preliminary reassurance before Christmas, and will be even better to get back into training with full reassurance once the tests are complete. Take care and enjoy everything else the festive season has to offer!

Muttley, very nice with only 3 min rest. On my 2k’s I was still acting like a fish on dry land at 3 mins into recovery :-/
