As a teen thought nothing about going out in winter in just a T shirt, well trousers as well, you know what I mean.

Saw a Facebook post today on a Geordie in a cultural appropriation scandal, they were wearing a jacket in winter ;-)

Am old and sensible and wrap up now, despite being very well lagged to start with.

I used to run cross country in vest and shorts, in the coldest weather.

I run in a crop top for races when hot in the summer. I used to be self conscious but now I'm over 50 I dont give a fig (or insert other appropriate word:) ) - I seriously overheat in summer & a crop top really keeps you a lot cooler.

I like this picture as we are marshalling and wrapped up to the nines - I was wearing five layers! - and there is a bloke running past in his vest!! Northern Cross Country Champs at Harewood; it was a bit parky out.

Possibly the females who wear long tights even in summer are concealing clumps of broken veins on their legs - long-term side-effect of pregnancy.

I know women who tie a jacket or jumper around their waist because they want to cover up their bum.

Back inthe gym for me today. Bloody hell you can't leave it longer than a few weeks ... I sem to have lost an inordinate amount of hard gained strength/power.

Am hoping it will return as fast as it disappeared - but every year it gets harder.
But then you all know that!

I may even have been one of those women, Sarah. Then I realised no-one was looking at me anyway :-)

Now I only tie a jacket or top round my waist on the Thursday club run, because we stop at a pub at the end of the run and I need something to put on as I get chilly on the trip back home.

Sigh
On the advice of the vascular surgeon, I'm wearing knee-length medical grade 2 compression stockings all day, every day, and have been since the start of December. I alternate these with knee-length compression running socks which have very similar compression rating. They've worked miracles in clearing my varicose veins. Tomorrow I'm going to try just wearing my Compressport calf guards and regular socks, as that would be my preference for the warmer months. Anyone looking at me would think I was nuts though.
