I tried a Serpie crop top on when I was part of the kit shop team but. I looked hideous and made no further attempts at crop toppery.

I will add that you do NOT want anything loose and floppy* for jumping events! seriously, you don't.

* am not referring to skin here, but that's best avoided if possible.....

I know I've said this before elsewhere on Fetch, but when I took up running OH bought me a bright lime green crop top to wear. I think he was mistaking me for the 22 year old 7 stone something he'd married 30 years earlier :-)

MrsR suggested that if I wore a short vest that exposed my “veranda over the toy shop” as the Aussies call it, my torso would probably resemble something like a squashed licourice allsort.

Ohh...I don't fret about such stuff velo...And it doesn't seem to be an entirely age related thing! I've heard comments from those aged between 18 and 70 regarding those runners in winter! Being cold is no joke ...when my son was in his twenties ( in his forties now) he and his peers would note how certain groups of other young men would wear t shirts in the thick of winter...they called them "shirters" and thought they were daft. From what I can gather, on the continent and in North America no one would expose flesh to sub zero temperatures. Let's face it, the UK population has some curious ways of approaching weather of all kinds.
On an opposite note I find it equally daft when I see runners wearing long tights in the heat of summer too ( invariably female) and with a jacket tied around their waists. There may well be a bit more sense in some ways in not having too much sun exposure but this happens on cloudy days too!
