The course is flooded, unlikely to be water free by tomorrow. Our club is saying that it will go ahead, I'm thinking they might reverse the route at half way, make it out and back. In which case it's gonna be an absolute and utter killer, with the only 5 flat miles removed.

This is what the Cornish route looked like three hours ago, before more rain fell (and yet more due):

That looks very scenic. But not particularly suitable for a road race.

Nice and scenic if you’re in a kayak...

People actually hate that section of the course (as it's "monotonous"), but they're wrong, it's beautiful - as you can see.

Some people probably don’t much like it because their feet get wet

I did actually run through a lot of water in my VF in the dent dale race this year which had bad floods. they were fine. Thin upper drained really well.

They've changed the course officially despite the fact the weather forecast has changed and is now set to be sunny. This means a 10 minute hill with two 1 in 5/20% sections in has been added that wouldn't normally been there. The flat is gone, and replaced by undulations and this bit. Sub 3.30 isn't really an option, it's survival now. (The 10 minute hill is at about mile 20, and followed then by the next 5 miles of three nasty hills).
