It feels like the finish line never gets any closer, probably also not helped by the fact the finish is a few hundred meters further than the start line.

There must be some 'Bambi on Ice' moments in wet weather (which of course Glasgow is never known for). Falkirk was quite exciting the day I did it with ice on the long final downhill. Strathclyde is another where you see the finish from a very long way out, especially fun in a strong headwind.
