If you wear glasses that you cannot take off, your eyes must be visible without any glare or reflections." I think last time I got a passport I had reactolite lenses so they were effectively tinted so I had to remove them - hence my recollection that glasses weren't allowed]

Plus cropping to get just the right size/shape. There's also photo checkers on NZ site (https://onlinephotochecker.passports.govt.nz/Home/TermsAndConditions) and buried in the US visa application process. I know they're not UK, but it does give a good degree of confidence. I found most country entry photos, eg US, always want glasses removed]
