Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

People that walk around the shops, yet stand still on an escalator or a travelator, like they've misinterpreted some environmental cue and believe they are on a fairground ride.

The explosion of dog walking businesses. Is it just me or do people miss the point of owning a dog is to take responsibility of its exercise too? I’ve owned 5 dogs in my life time so far and part of the enjoyment of having a dog is the walking or running with them. I just think it’s damn lazy. Ok, if you are not physically able to walk because of some health condition I can partly understand but don’t get a dog if you can’t look after it properly in the first place!
A friend of mine has one of these businesses and she says there are three main types of customer - people who are too elderly or ill to continue walking their dog as much as they used to, people who commute and/or work long hours wanting their dog to have daytime walks, and people who go on holiday or travel for work. A dog can live 15-20 years and people's circumstances can change over that time.

Why I could make perfect fried eggs 60 years ago and cannot now. (My daughter can't either and I haven't checked whether her children can.)

[my theory on ease of peeling hard boiled eggs - if the membrane between the shell and white is intact and dry inside, they are hard to peel. If you take a piece of shell off, tear the membrane and wet it a little, the shell comes of easily.]

Why you get pointless "options" on white goods. Such as my tumble dry has a no creese option. When would I ever choose not to press that? Maybe I feel like a challenge when doing ironing?

maybe is it a higher power option because it increases the run time so costing more? It'll be something like that...
