I did a very brief test run in the first generation Saucony Endorphin Elite and really liked them, preferring them to the Endorphin Pro. I don't recall them feeling squishy or unstable, so this is presumably a change with the v2 model?

I love the Endorphin Elite and don't feel at all unstable in them. Never tried the Pro; the Elite was an opportunistic second hand bargain on Marketplace.

I’ve based it on a bit of both the race I did in the VF 3 was disappointing. Half and 5 mile PB was AF1 and 10k Age PB VF2

Sagasu Running had a video which put shoes on a spectrum IIRC in terms of supershoe types and the Pro and Elite were on opposite ends. It's the VF Vs AF supershoe thing.

The video I was referring to: The matrix of shoes is from 9 mins in but the explanation before is worth a listen. Might explain why people like different supershoes. Would be interesting to see if people have felt this in the different shoes they've tried. |

SPR, very thorough and interesting video. Still don't know which one I should go for, though!

@J2R I think you and @Velociraptor said you got on well with the Saucony Endorphin Elite. Assuming stats fit with that, it could be worth trying the one on that side of supershoes style if you're feeling a real difference in that vs other ones you've tried. I know Vrap has used the VFs but not sure about the AFs which is on the same side as the Elite on that matrix.

I wonder could I do a simple test to see whether I'm a 'cadence runner' or a 'stride runner', in Asics' terms? My watch records both cadence and stride length so it should be easy enough to do this. What would I do? Maybe 1km easy round a set route, then 2km faster each time?
