As per above it's only for the odd long rep session where a bit more cushioning might be helpful, I don't want to use the Takumi Sen 9 but the Victory Waffle 5 probably aren't enough shoe at least for now. There aren't many choices for that these days hence why I got them.
As said previously, for road racing, I'm hoping the the Streakfly 2 is a good shoe but no intention of using the original Streakfly for that.
Any recommendations for low stack super shoes now my Puma Deviate Nitro Elites have almost worn out, and there doesn't seem to be a like for like replacement?
Used the Streakfly for a session for the first time today (5 x 1000). It did the job I needed it to do of a bit of cushioning and a bit of drop vs spikes (so less calf and achilles stress). Hit the paces I wanted (although that was the limit on the day) and it felt ok. Would expect spikes to be faster of course.
I believe the SC Pacer is the lowest stack plated shoe you can get. There's a version 2 with more stack though so you might want to get a few pairs if you like them. I believe Emily Sisson still runs in V1.
From my perspective 8mm drop was above what I'd want to run in so it fell below the Takumi Sen as something to try.
Should say the new version has a full PEBA based midsole so that in theory sounds better but Emily Sisson still choosing V1 suggests it's not a no brainer choice.
