Interesting. Looks like it focuses on position in the front of the shoe and the rear is inconsequential.

Interesting. As I understand it, the thick foam inhibits the big toe, hence needing a rocker and a bit of give in the plate to reduce this limit. If that is correct, then I find it difficult to see how a plate curve can be patented as it follows foot anatomy / foam thickness constraints. That's a good reddit feed. |

I've run over 100 miles now in my Saucony Endorphin Pros, but a HM I ran on Sunday was the first time I actually felt I was getting much benefit out of them. It's a subtle thing, like there's a sweet spot you have to hit. I've made some minor changes to my running gait and now I think they're working better for me. Would be very tempted to give those Pumas a go, though.

SPR, frustratingly not! I have a persistent problem with my neck which causes migraines and nausea and this has seriously affected what I'm capable of in races this year (it's been around for a while but this year has been especially bad). So I feel I'm actually fit and fast enough for PBs but not able to hit them. What I did feel on Sunday was that the pace felt surprisingly comfortable, so that was a positive.

J2R - Fair enough. I wondered if you were seeing HR data in training compared to other shoes. I always used to see lower HRs when I put on my racers and they felt faster for the same effort (not looked at the data recently but the feeling is there). From my point of view that makes sense if you're losing 130g+ per foot. |
