Abingdon for me was a bad day at office but I need to go back to get rid of the bogey. I have to say Chester and Amsterdam are on my list to do

That's good to hear Huntsman. Remember seeing the course profile for the inaugural Bournemouth marathon and thinking that's not good. But what swayed it for me was finding out it was the same organisers as the Edinburgh marathon and the alarms bells started to ring.

I'm gonna be bowing out of this one for a while - Other parts of my life are giving me more enjoyment than running so will continue to persue them - I still have half a dozen fun races this year starting in August but will be running them just for fun.
Next up Anchorage, Oslo, Snowdon,Istanbul & Malaga (Amsterdam is a maybe ?).
Thanks to all for your support

2.4 miles barely sub 8 & had to really work for it tells the tale at present.
See you at snowdon before you disappear into the distance.

what's a sub8 mile?
I'm struggling at the moment - I think my body needs a break. I'm just very bad at not running as when I do other things (mainly my head) fall apart!

Just getting into my training for Chester on 2nd October (please add to the side-bar). Did a half as my LSR yesterday and it was all right, about 25sec/km slower than MP but I wasn't pushing it, trying to stay in HR Zone 2. Did the last Km at MP and that was really hard on tired legs! Recovery 10K today was *very* slow.

I'm back, although I've not really been away as I've still been watching but had nothing to contribute since the beginning of the year when cold weather related quad problems destroyed my training for the Manchester marathon. Completed it in 3h54m :-(.
I haven't learned my lesson, so here I am 2 weeks into an 18 weeks plan for the Abingdon marathon in October. I've hit all the targets so far, except for the weekend's 13 miles with 8 at PMP of 7:25 since I managed the 8x PMP miles at only 7:54. Still, there's plenty of time to go.
Thanks to Clare 1976, for it's her P&D plan that she gave some of us a while ago which I am following, it's working so far.

Flatlander, I think many people find those early plan P&D long(ish) runs including MP difficult. But they seem to get better as the plan progresses, even though the MP section increases in length.
