Fetch can be adjusted based on your other race conversions. But you're right Nelly, only you know if any given race is an anomaly or if it's representative. Then again, conversions only work assuming you have done the training specific to that distance too. But as a rule of thumb, I would say 1:30 is good for a 3:15. 1:35 is 3:2x territory. But others have done much better and much worse. Good luck!! :-)G

Ive been looking at a lot of the different ones, an a lot of them predict between 3:05 and 3:15. Interestingly pretty much all of them have predicted my 5k between 19:10 and 19:15 when my pb is 19:12. That makes 3:20 look like a safe target to go for. Planning an october marathon as well so i can aim higher then.

I find it useful to look at what others on fetch have done with my hm time
When I was thinking sub 4 I found that only the odd unusual person had managed it with a 1.50+ half and sub1.50 was no guarantee. Even people with 1.40 half hadn't managed sub4 but I guess that was down to not being trained for the distance/ bad pacing/ weather

Currently my hm is so old that I beat it in my latest marathon!! Marathon 3.31, half 1.47!! So I can't apply that principle. I did a 10 km recently on no specific 10km training but think that is too far away from marathon to use as a predictor so my goal is just to chip away a little at my marathon

I'm hoping to have a sub1:40 half in March, should happen unless shit happens on the day. For my target marathon I will be aiming to set off at the right pace for a just sub 3:30 finish time and not run too fast in the first 20 miles. Consistent pacing used to be my problem. I'll know if my training has been adequate if I don't fade in the last six miles.

Being a sad statto geek, notice that for last Sunday's 15 mile race I went through HM distance in just about spot on 1:40 :-)

Was going to give it the 'beanz' at Cambridge parkrun today but conditions underfoot and the wrong choice of footwear resulted in taking the decision after my warm-up to have a moderate effort. Pleased with 21:57, but that's my last quick (for me) running until I've recovered from the Quadzilla. The litmus test to see how close I'm to sub-3:30 will be the Mick'n'Phil half in March. Hope to get as close as I can to 1:30.

10 mile race today. 1.14. Didn't climb comfortably, and had issues with my abs on the descent. However, I think that shows me that I'm on the right track...

Roberto - you'll probably get a better response here http://www.fetcheveryone.com/viewtopic.php?id=46228 Being local, I don't stay in local hotels, but...

Premmier Inn - West Didsbury has rooms for £61, is handy for the M60 and only 2 miles from the start/finish. (Old Trafford Premmier Inn is closer, but more expensive, and on the race route so access may be more problematic)

If you want cheaper, then Altirincham Lodge have rooms from £41 (non-refundable), and is half a mile from the Metro station, which is 15mins from the start/finish.

Alternatively, the start/finish is only 10mins on the Metro from central Manchester, so there'll be loads of places around.
