7:55 average at half way and 7:48 average at the finish suggests a nice little speed up! That's a very tidy run a week out from a fast marathon; well done!

Wow SS, you're incredible. What an amazing double in the week and both so well paced. Really admire your ability and confidence to run without a watch!

That is almost not human sailorsteve.

Not just flattering you, I’m truly impressed with that mate. You are a machine.

Well what actually made me open this thread just now is the normal tapering madness..
I’m aiming for a ~4:40min/km on Saturday.

It would be a dream to have around 4:40-45 first half and then be able to have a slight negative split.

Around 4:45 until 32km made me bonk at the dreaded 32-35km in may, and gave me a 4:58 in the end.

But. I have been training very well.
I have a lot more Mara specific training, i have a lot of good long runs, I have a better energy plan. And it seems to be an even flatter route.

My fears this time might be weather.
Some wind, cold and maybe rain. That won’t be nice.

Also, have done the “right” training? I have surly done what I have set out do do at least.
And of course, will my last week be relaxing and energetic enough to get a good feeling on the race day:)

At least I’m looking forward to the even this time :)

Sounds like you’re in a good place Bowman, very best wishes for Saturday - it’ll come around soon enough now💪

If you’re out there Oscar, here’s hoping you’re in good nick for Newport the weekend after? Hope you’ve made it to the taper in one piece🤞
