Kip hope probably just about got it right in Berlin. Possibly if he was 15-20 seconds slower at half way he might have been slightly faster overall. What is shows is that a negative split isn’t possible if you are pushing the boundaries from the start

Anyone else on here for London? Red #42013 for me.

One of my big toe nails may not get the trip but the rest of me will be there👍

That'll be an intriguing back to back SS. Have you done back to back races like that before?

Cheers Larks.

No, not done consecutive Sundays before. I’m still buzzing from last weekend so my expectations for this Sunday are very relaxed. I’ll give it what I’ve got as always and sub3:30 is always my target for a solid performance from me.

Timing is far from ideal obviously but I hadn’t done Berlin before and given the shenanigans of the last 2-3 years, didn’t want to defer. I already had a solid GFA time for April London next year, so no point in deferring that this year either.

Apart from the potential of my big toe nail to go awol, my recovery runs have been pretty comfy, so fingers crossed.

Even more reason for me to start superslowly this weekend and maybe, just maybe, I can ‘enjoy’ the last couple of miles.

Super social day and very happy with 3:24. Neg split fwiw but mainly because I was blocked all the way round rather than my pacing prowess, so I did get to enjoy the last 3 miles. My GFA start, red wave 2, came out behind all of the charity runners. Fair play to them and I’ll do it again, but if you want a reasonably peer based paced run at a major, Boston and Berlin (I’ve not done the others) are different gravy.

Thanks both, very kind.

Despite the congestion it was another great day and the social afterwards was tip top.

My splits below - I didn’t slow down cos I couldn’t speed up😁
