Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I know, I've still got traits of youth on my side...

Just having a grumpy day with tired legs after a what should be a "bog standard" 11 mile run yesterday. Not helped with 4.5 hours on my feet at a Texas concert though, so maybe that's it.

also 49, also at quite a low ebb atm. Haven't been able to break 20 at parkrun 2 weeks in a row. In the last 2 weeks of March I ran a sub 18 5k and an 81 HM.

Training works. Not training doesn't!! Even cycling reasonable amounts doesn't seem to help my running.

Also wanna get fit for 50.....

You were in Texas, Larks? No wonder you're tired.

Ah, that must be it ;-)

(I should add that it wasn't my choice, but they were pretty good).

That’s crazy WW you just need to get jogging and you’ll soon get back to your usual self. Even I managed 19:40 yesterday on a diet of not much for the last few months.

Great tempo run for me this morning. 11km at half marathon pace within 18km. 30 seconds per km quicker than the same run last year. I am currently thinking about signing up for a half weeks out. I have run the course before (one of the first major races back in 2020) and it isn't a pb course but I think would be good course to set pace expectations for the big day.

Five weeks out should be fine to do a half marathon especially if you get a good time which will give you a lot of confidence

I agree with riggys. I got my 1/2 PB 5 weeks before my marathon PB.
