I think this might be a good max HR to use, from my seasons best parkrun last year with a pretty decent warm up. I might use 174 for a bit and see if the figures improve.

The parkrun is just the block on the middle with a run there and back.

Jda, apparently the calc can filter out nonsense. Of course, if it's all nonsense then I guess it would get confused.

Njo - that seems like a decent one to use. The 174 could be a spike but it looks like it's just before the finish, so if there was a delay in stopping your watch, the up then drop would make sense.

FWIW I previously had it at 179 so not massively different.

I've unwittingly run my largest ever July. Pretty modest by the standards of this thread but 240 miles without a single long run is quite a lot for me. :-)

Seems like there's usually better things to do at this time of the year!

August will be a lot lower. Some holidays and just a break from the routine is required. I've found the last month or so quite a slog mentally, reflecting the fact that I haven't had a day off work since Easter.

Perhaps September will be a month where we can all sharpen up ahead of some racing in October. Perhaps....

My HRmax used to top out in the high 190s. Today my watch told me that I ran 10 undulating miles at 7:30 pace at 24C at a HRavg = 138. Yeah, whatever Fenix 5 piece of sh*t.

I am the opposite. Apart from July I have recorded record mileage or within about 10 miles every month thus yeAr apart from July.

A few years ago I recorded my highest ever month of 362 which included a couple or even three weeks of 90 miles. Unsurprisingly I had an overuse injury after that.

My current miles though are way up given there has been no taper or recovery required and I have been keeping an average of about 10 miles a day but without any real effort runs.

Nice volume WW, always good to set a decent base.

If anybody wants to have more information on their max/min HR, VO2 etc. just get diagnosed with a heart condition. I've got more data than I will ever need to know. I had estimated my max HR at 165 and the testing indicated 164, which wasn't too far out. VO2 was actually higher from the Bruce Protocol test than what my Garmin (Fenix 5X - WW :-) ) has been showing. I have been using the Garmin Tri HR strap to keep me alive - no complaints yet but if I die can someone please take up my case with Garmin.

I'll leave you to the detailed testing BR! It's great that you're still at it though, isn't it?

Big miles Baz. We come to expect it as the norm but shouldn't forget the graft that goes in behind the scenes to achieve it. Great stuff!

I was due a rest day when lockdown started, but as VLM was off and I only had 1 hr per day, I just ran every day. I am now on day 151 of a streak.

I could do with racing restarting so that I am forced to build in some rests. That said my twice weeks runs at 80% max HR and easy running the rest of the time seems to be pretty do-able and no issues as yet raising their head.

Yes, happy to still be running WW, albeit much slower.

Baz, you're not getting injured so it can't be bad. I'm impressed with you running about 3,000 miles a year for the last 7 years.
