Gutted that HG has logged some times against his dodgy handicap :-(

As marathons are out the way I will log Nov and Dec times that should be under my 19:13 so might overtake, but not if Happy is to log another reasonable effort

Re strava - my runs upload there but I use fetch as my main go to and mostly use strava to see what others are up to

This is the mobile app version of the thick client. I have no need to try it, I don't think, but other techies might be interested. He seems keen on integration with other apps too.

Bazo, currently nursing a hamstring injury. XC is focus for winter, so parkrun is secondary. I won't do both in a day! However, club do a winter parkrun series - 4 from 5 of the Fife parkruns from Oct - Feb or something. Good news for you is not a one of them is flat tarmac!

duck Lochore - trail round a loch, couple of twists, v small inclines at end. I always run badly. 30s slower than Cramond? 20:40 vs 20:10.
medal Kirkcaldy - tarmac but with a hill, comes twice. I like it but think I have to do a different one to count. 20s slower than Cramond?
cayke Loch Leven - our club's local, but I really don't like it. Small field, trail, half uphill on a drag from lochside x 2.5. No idea of time as always slow!
starDunfermline - pig of a hill x 3. Hate it. Lovely park, loads of pals. No good time ever.
muppet St Andrews - never done it, no idea.
run Perth - (I know it's not in Fife, but it's in Perth and Kinross, hence the KRR link). Flat, but with 1.5km at end on mud, gets worse as winter progresses! Best time in last 2 years there though, I think?

I'll keep ya posted! :-) G

Took the plunge and bought the JD 3rd edition book. After 10 minutes skimming through, I've half a mind to pick up the "Final 12 week" plan with a ballpark max mileage of 55-60 thrown in against it. That gives me plenty of time to get the calf fully back in working order, and I'd try to build up plenty of weeks in December in advance of a 12 week programme kicking in, but keep the formal plan sufficiently short to retain interest.

Though it looks a touch "advanced" in the sense that the first Q session is 22 miles, so maybe I need to read a little more about who it is designed for...

I'm guessing that 22 is meant to take no more than 2h30 too :-)

Hmm, just took another look - the "12 week final" comes after the "18 week final" which is intended for those on 100mpw schedules. Whilst it doesn't say it, it could well be that the 12 week one has a similar audience in mind.

Still, it would be an ambitious plan to have 12 weeks with a LR at 20m+ every week.

I think I need to read the book properly...

HG - I am planning on going to the Oriam Inaugural this Saturday but I believe its not a fast route

I like Fetch for analysis, and the continued development of that analysis. strava works well for seeing what clubmates and others are up to.

I'm stalling at the first hurdle with JD - how to put the 2Q or 4 week plans into the fetch planner!! Bring back P&D with their nice day by day guide; there's a reason the fetch training plans archive doesn't appear to have JD plans pre-populated it seems!

Paradoxically that’s what is drawing me to the JD plans. If I have to stick to a rigid plan I struggle and when I miss one or two sessions I can end up not bothering at all. The flexibility of JD to do most sessions at easy pace with flexibility over distance makes me think I will stick with it better.
