Glad you sort of enjoyed it HG! I did check your time out, and saw the 5ks getting slower and slower - though tbh I just imagined you hi-5'ing everyone on the route rather than the GI issues!
Great run Steve - and who really cares about 3 seconds anyway??!

Thanks everyone, very kind.
Haha ptb you’d think so wouldn’t you? Tbh it’s such a tricky course I’m not sure I could have found any time anywhere. It doesn’t look like it but believe it or not I was actively holding myself back for the first eleven miles, so maybe I “lost” them there? Even unaware of the time, I pushed as hard as I could in the last 2 miles but any harder and my quads and calves started dancing with cramp.
Goodness knows how you get “good” on that course so the ladies winner, debuting with no reconnaissance, raced so well.

G - sorry that it turned out like that. I don’t suppose that’s what any of us expected. Boston must be an amazing event for you to still feel positive about the experience. Enjoy your hols.
And well done Steve. You’re a very accomplished runner and we are lucky to have you contributing here. Off to read your blog.
I’m tapering and I like it. A lot!

Steve , that's a great blog and makes me want to do Boston even more. Albeit Happy's tale maybe puts me off a little Glad you enjoyed the experience though. Steve it also looks like a fabulous run and you seem to know your body and judge pace so well. Amazing stuff really.
No taper madness here yet which is unusual. As its tonight's run which mixes up tempo and MP which I don't think I have done before but should be a useful exercise. 11 miles with 1 tempo, 2mp, 1 tempo, 2 mp and a couple of miles home. Thankfully the worst of my cold has passed.
