Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Good luck to those at Chester. Certainly been busy on the page for several weeks. Whilst i’m here, Manchester or Milton Keynes? Can’t decide for next spring.

Interesting Baz, I'd not spotted that the end had changed since 2015 when I did the metric. I know the start has been moved forward for less grass but thought they'd extended the run up and through the town by enough to avoid having to move the finish line.

You enter the racecourse as before and run a short bit then turn left and have a long finish straight into the centre of the racecourse. . Albeit they didn't yet have the finish line set up so it might not be as far and part of it is the area beyond the finish.

Thanks for all the good wishes and to all fellow racers this weekend run well and stick to your plan.

Recipe for getting the mile markers wrong then if there's subtle changes. A good reason not to use manual lapping?

Really rooting for you Baz, HappyG and larks tomorrow at Chester - hope the weather is kind and the running gods are smiling on all 3 of you.

Cam - not done MK, but can recommend Manchester if you're looking for a flat, fast and well supported marathon.

I survived my hill race without injuring myself today. 68 mins of mud, lung bursting effort and average HR of 173, think I need to take it easy for next 7 days now !

Sounds horrifically enjoyable gus. What's you max hr? That would be half marathon to 10k effort level for me

I use a maxHR of 185, but have not reached that level for a couple of years. I averaged 176 at the 10k a few weeks ago.

A nice easy 13 for me tomorrow morning, then back to hopefully read all the glory stories from Chester

Plans to arrive nice and early and sit in the car now scuppered - car park closed due to the wet weather today.

Minor inconvenience but a bit of a shame.

Just checked in to see if you'd seen that Larkim, just saw it on their fb page. Don't panic I'm sure there are plenty of options. If it's as wet as that suggests makes sure you look out for the blue shoe covers they provide at the start so you don't get wet feet before you start (but obvs remember to take them off before you run 😂)

Local knowledge means I'm fairly sure I can park elsewhere without issue but I was quite looking reward to the sanctuary of the car for a bit.
