Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

22.6 for me yesterday. 4.5 hours up the hills. Lovely day. 2,500 ft too. That's why it was so slow, honest. Not just yacking and picnicking! :-) G

And wow at WW's 17:45 5K! I'd be delighted to get back under 19, never mind 18! :-) G

Good luck with a post work 17 larks. I've got a 15 this week, but I think I'll do e.g. 4 before club, 8 with club, 3 after or something. Always makes it a bit easier to do. :-) G

Without wanting to set myself up for an easy option (!), I've got an 11 mile loop that I can deviate from at half way to add the old parkrun course into, so multiple laps of that can take an 11 into a 14 or a 17 easily. So at the very least I'll have 14 in the bag tonight, but I hope I'll have the will power for longer. With a 12 mile MLR on Wednesday too, and 20 (increased from 16) on Sunday this will be a big week when the miles get totted up, but it'll be a bit misleading as shifting Sunday to Monday just means I end up with two LRs in the same 7 days.

The 20 at the weekend will be on the Chester course, so should be a nice recce.

I've got a spreadsheet that does a 2 and 4 week average to even out when 2 long runs end up in one Mon-Sun week.

Reasonably happy with

run 18.5, 18, 20 (8MP), 20, 21, race, 17 (12MP), 22 in last 8 weeks.

And planned for 6 weeks to go (before 2 week taper)
blueshoes

half (race), 18 (prob up to 20), 18 (14MP), 17 (got a 10K that weekend?), 20 (got a half but for fun), 17 (another 10K race)

Need to have a think about how to incorporate the races and the long runs in. Hmmm. :-) G

Why are races always on a Sunday? If they were Saturday you could still do long run on a Sunday. Long run on the Monday is just tough! :-) G

You started to get me worried about my LRs there Happy, so I had to go back to check. In the last few weeks I've actually been running fewer / shorter LRs than I was in the weeks before, so I should take comfort that there are miles in the legs.

Just for my own sanity, the 19 weeks before Chester for me have looked like this (week, LR distance, total mileage run 0 currently at week 8 where I've actually pretended tonights 17 are part of last week's volume, otherwise it would be 11/59 rather than 28/42):-
LR Total Comments
19 20 37
18 21 47
17 21 44
16 14 40
15 20 48
14 13 40 Plus Downhill Run race on Sunday
13 0 14 Long bike instead (47m)
12 16 43
11 14 43 Incl 8 @ MP
10 10 43 10 mile road race
9 19 47 Inc 11 @ MP
8 17 28
7 20 42
6 15 48 Incl 12 @ MP
5 20 55 South Cheshire 20m race - though not being raced, aim 15 @ MP?
4 20 48
3 15 47 First 10k race, then jog home for total
2 16 34
1 12 32
