Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I run quite a few 1 milers these days as work shifts weather and other variables like time effect what I’m doing, it’s my streak and even when it’s only a mile, the dog is happy, I’m happy if I wasn’t happy I’d just stop!

Think my daily average is still at around 8miles a day for the streak!

I hate running so much at the moment that I am just doing a bit over a mile, more if I'm fidgety. But I hate it, and so do not enjoy it at present.

But if I stop I know I'll regret it. :(

Sometimes one measly mile is all one can do...if one is dead tired, broken, etc. Recently, I've tried to start doing 2 milers for my minimum, but there are days when I can only do one measly mile.

When I first started I did at least 5k everyday. Now I have been going to the gym more often and trying to fit in more strength training, so I run mile only at least 1 day a week, sometimes two days.

I see 1 mile as my minimum, but it's personal for each person I guess.

For the longest time when coming off injury, I could only do one mile if I wanted to keep running every day.

I also follow the SRI rule, so one mile at minimum. I do a one-mile streak saver every Wednesday, which feels like a rest day and helps towards keeping me un-injured.

I've also done continuous days of one-mile runs in the past when ill or niggly.

I go with the late Ron Hill’s classification of a mile minimum and that of USRSA

My personal mile rule isn't one I want but one I have to accept because I can't run far these days thanks to symptoms from long COVID. Treatment from COVID consultant is giving a meagre improvement since April. Review happening in November.

So, my average is around 3.5 a day.
