You were an awesome doctor @Velociraptor who was dedicated to giving the best patient care. I felt quite sad for a short while when I knew my teaching career was officially over but the system was so appalling I was glad to be away from it. I think we can both be safe in the knowledge we did our best. x

Thanks, Pix I'm not too sad about my career having ended like a damp squib and it would have been consistent with my dealings with the GMC and its sub-departments if I'd ended up being struck off for failing to jump through a hoop that I wasn't able to find. (I haven't done anything bad that they know about, as far as I'm aware.) |

And @Angus Clydesdale, Tenerife in December is delightful, or was when we last went pre-pandemic. Pleasant temperature, unusual to get bad weather (we did have a couple of wet and windy days on GC in the winter one year). However, unheated outdoor swimming pools are inclined to be a little chilly at that time of year.

I remember vrap saving me from a painful splinter! The week of London marathon 2010 as a super sixer! You were at a local surgery and told me to come along and you’d fix me. It was only when I got there that I realised I didn’t know your surname! And you lanced my trailwalker blisters! Happy memories 😂 |

I remember, Pix! Was that the surgery at Werrington? (Still happy to firtle out splinters, burst blisters, lance boils etc.) |

That is a big step, V’rap. I’m glad you got some recognition - however canned - for your service. I’m confident you’ve been an excellent doctor - enjoy your time now being a partially NHS-sponsored full time athlete:-) .
