Lol TR! Computers, innit. I often think any vaguely logical thinker could do my job. But then something goes wrong and it seems like no one else has done any logical thinking. Still happily leave them to it and be a sailing instructor instead, thanks! G |

We used to make a major release of our software just before Christmas each year. Then I'd spend the christmas/new year break wondering what bugs would have been found in it by the time I was back in work. Another thing I don't miss |

I tried to save the 1000's email I'd archived over the years when I retired. Unfortunately I could never open any of these files. Can't say I've ever missed them. Then when my laptop got too old and slow I stopped using it,and now only use my smartphone for everything.

There's an old IT joke, @OO61 . "How long will this data last?" "Forever, and until the next software update." We (work) still have files we were required to archive for 21 years, about 15vyears back. The data is there. Reading it into a modern application would require quite some work. |

Thanks Vrap. And congratulations! 😁 Send my love to El Bee. He remains the nicest shoe shop guy I’ve ever spoken to. |

Just heard Reeves has axed pensioner's winter fuel payment unless they're on pension credit. 😭

I budget carefully to be able to use the fuel allowance for a weekend away. But there are many that the fuel allowance is essential to get them through the winter. When's the next general election 😡 |
