Fizz :-)
I’m going to renew my accountancy credentials in January, just in case, and then most likely let them lapse in 2026. (Although I believe it’s relatively simple to revive them again if I decide I need to)

um
( In my defence, unless I'm mistaken, if I let my certification lapse or expire, I need to retake the exam to regain it. That's about the only reason I bother keeping it. And pride. And 'just in case'. ) |

I'd need to jump through lots of hoops to rejoin the register, which is as it should be.

Aye, my job in the last decade of so would have been impossible if the software releases hadn't been done properly. Which was part of the problem; I was quite good at the stuff that had to do with human bodies, competent at the paperwork at least until the turn of the millennium, but widespread computerisation, while beneficial in lots of ways, tended to create a lot of the sort of work that absolutely wasn't in my skillset.
