My (very approx) retirement timeline: 50s - tons of travel and keep doing competitive endurance sport (another 3-4 years from now) 60s - competitive sport will morph into more adventure type stuff, still going to great places but doing stuff for the experience/to finish. Also a substantial DIY type project of house renovation/create wild garden with land type. 70s - slow down a bit, get a dog, lots of travel still but more UK, enjoy fruits of DIY project 80s - expecting a lot less travel, hope to stay in own house and as active as possible 90s - who knows, whatever I'm capable of Expect a gradual evolution from each phase to the next. |

That’s a fairly decent plan 😀 |

My plan is even more approximate than that and involves making a judgment about what needs to be done in the near future (running and interesting hiking, learning new things, getting the garden in shape) vs. what can be postponed (serving tea in the local hospital visitors' café, looking at exotic scenery out of the window of a train).

It involves only doing things I want to be doing. Nothing more, nothing less.
